| The road traffic flow in Chinese cities is mainly composed of mixed traffic flow which contains two kinds of vehicles: motorized vehicles and non-motorized vehicles. The interference between those two kinds of vehicles is common, which causes problems for traffic management. In order to analyze and research such problems, this thesis has built three mixed traffic flow models based on cellular automata to analyze the road mixed traffic characteristics by computer simulation. Those models are Model One (totally separated mixed traffic cellular automata model), Model Two (partially separated mixed traffic cellular automata model) and Model Three (totally mixed traffic cellular automata model). The thesis has simulated the three models and analyzed the effects of vehicle occupation rate on traffic flow quantity/density/velocity, and the effect of vehicle mixed rate on traffic flow quantity. The thesis has also analyzed the three models’simulation results and drawn the conclusion that Model Two is the most practical one of the three models. The thesis also validated the results in the following aspects by comparing them to the data collected from the real world: model’s rules, model’s data and model’s structure. The result shows that the models are basically credible.Unlike other papers, this thesis has proposed an original mixed traffic cellular automata model which can describe the width of vehicles. Also, this thesis has distinguished different road separating methods, which are totally separated, partially separated and totally mixed, in modeling. |
