Study On Biomechanical Characteristics Of3Kinds Of Plants’ Branches

Tensile and bending characteristics of Caragana microphylla Lam.,Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch., and Hippophae rhamnoides Linn, were measured by axial tensile test and cantilever beam simulation test. Those plants were3to4years old. Conclusions were as follows:The anti-tension of3kinds of branches with diameter showed a positive power function. In diameter of1mm to5.14mm scope,3kinds of branches with the same diameter are compared, anti-tension strength of Caragana microphylla Lam> Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch.>Hippophae rhamnoides Linn. Diameter of1.5mm. anti-tension strength of Caragana microphylla Lam., Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch.. and Hippophae rhamnoides Linn were106.01N、91.77N and40.01N。Loading speed and the length of the branches is non significant for tensile strength of3kinds of branches.Bending force of Caragana microphylla Lam., Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch., and Hippophae rhamnoides Linn, branches with diameter shows a positive power function. Bending force of Caragana microphylla Lam.was larger than Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch.. In diameter of1.35mm to4.15mm scope. Bending force of Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch. was larger than Hippophae rhamnoides Linn..The bending strength of3kinds of branches showed negative power function with diameter. Loading speed not had significant for tensile strength of3kinds of branches. Bending strength of3kinds of branches was increasing with length of branch.In early growth period.in diameter of1.78mm to3.05mm, the joining force of branch and leaves for Caragana microphylla Lam. occupied its anti-tension ranged form1.20%to4.92%.
