The tree ring has been used widely in the field of global climate change due to its advantage of accurate for cross-dating, well continuity, high-resolution and high sensitivity to the environment. Some academicians have already studied the climate change in the dry area of west and north China by using tree rings. Yet there is comparatively less research in east China, especially in Shandong Province. Therefore, there is certain value from the research on climate significance by using the width of tree rings in some areas of Shandong Province. The study area is located in Feixian County, Shandong Province in Eastern China with a warm temperate continental monsoon climate, and the study objects are tree-ring width of black pine, Chinese pine, and red pine from Mount Tashan. With mathematical reconstruction on several climate factors, and prediction on the growth of tree rings, this study researches the climate significance for the change of the tree-.ring width.Here are the main research results.(1)The first collecting phase is on May18th,2007and the second one is on November24th,2007, with a collection of54trees and123tree cores. The study first revises and standardizes21tree-ring width series of10comparatively old trees, which eliminates the effect of genetic factors. At the same time, the weather data have passed the slide t test and the mutation test. After analysis, the weather data are reliable suitable for further analysis.(2)The study analyzes the correlation between the tree ring width series and weather data, such as evaporation, accumulated temperature, raining days, average temperature from June to August, sunshine duration, rainfall from June to August. After the correlation analysis, it is found that significant negative correlation is the analysis result between the tree ring width and evaporation, significant positive correlation with annual accumulated temperature, certain negative correlation with raining days, more significant positive correlation with average temperature from June to August, and more significant positive correlation with sunshine duration.(3)With multiple regression equation, curve charts are respectively reconstructed on evaporation from1934-1960, accumulated temperature from1947-1960, raining days from1941-1960, average temperature from June to August from1941-1960, sunshine duration from1941-1960, rainfall from June to August from1949-1960. After analyzing the correlation, and checking historical data, the analysis has higher reliability.(4)Through the analysis of multiple regression, this paper forecasts the tree ring width from2000to2010, and have a high correlation analysis about the measured width and the predicted width from2000to2006. At the same time, it proves the reliability of the multiple linear regression equation in climate factor’s reconstruction.(5)Through the calculation and analysis of tree ring width and climate elements in Mount Tashan, this paper finds that tree ring growth in Tashan is not simply related to some climate factors, but rather complex subjects to the combined effect of many subsequent factors, which needs further study in the multiply climate factor’s analysis of Mount Tashan.
