Tobacco is an important economic crop, it is also an important economic source ofthe National and local taxation. The production of high-quality tobacco has a closerelationship with the soil nutrient situation, the nutrient status of the soil planting tobaccowill directly influence the yield and quality of tobacco. Jiangxi tobacco growing area isin the center of the high quality origin of tobacco in the southeast of China, has excellentconditions for the development of tobacco production. Therefore, the evaluation of soilsuitability for tobacco planting in Jiangxi Province, has far-reaching significance forimproving the quality of tobacco, stabilizing the scale of the cultivation of tobacco, aswell as the sustainable development of tobacco production.This article use GIS techniques established Lichuan County database of tobacco soilnutrients data. In this database, complex terrain, soil, and other basic informationorganized by attribute data and spatial data. By Delphi method, we selected13indicatorsand determined their weight, they are organic matter, nitrogen, available phosphorus andpotassium, pH, soil texture, soil parent materials, soil profile configuration, the type ofbarrier layer, topsoil thickness, slope, drainage conditions and irrigation conditions. Inthe County Land Resource Management System, by establishing the tectonic levelanalysis model and the membership function model, we can analysis and evaluation thesoil suitability in tobacco fields in Lichuan County and divided into four suitability level,they are the most suitable for the cultivation of tobacco, suitable for the cultivation oftobacco, less suitable for the cultivation of tobacco and unsuitable for the cultivation oftobacco. It provides a scientific basis for the guidance of tobacco production, which witha strong objectivity, practical and systematic.Analyze the suitability evaluation results, we can draw the following conclusions.Lichuan County’s soil is acidic, the soil organic matter content is higher, soil nitrogenand available phosphorus content is more abundant, potassium content is on the lowside.There is4856.28hectares arable land, is the most suitable for the cultivation oftobacco. Accounted for20.49%of the total area, mainly distributed in Tanxi town,Xunkou town and Sheping town. There is8476.21hectares arable land, is suitable for thecultivation of tobacco. Accounted for35.77%of the total area, mainly distributed inRifeng town, Xicheng town and Xiongcun town. There is8300.41hectares arable land, isless suitable for the cultivation of tobacco. Accounted for35.03%of the total area,mainly distributed in Rifeng town, Long’an town and Desheng town. There is2063.93hectares arable land, is unsuitable for the cultivation of tobacco. Accounted for8.71%ofthe total area, mainly distributed in Long’an town, Rifeng town and zhongtian town. On the basis of the suitability evaluation results, we choose C++as a developmentplatform, realized the graphics operations and basic GIS functions by using ArcGISEngine, established the Lichuan County tobacco fields nutrient management system. Thesystem implements the following functions, such as, Data query and managementfunction, the layer management function, Graphic editing function, Graphic displayfunction and inquiry statistics function, and passed the test, operating normally.
