In this paper, the study uses black film, white film mulch, straw mulch and sugarcane leaves covering to determine their influence on rain fed paddy soil moisture and rice growth. The main results were as follows:1、the different ways of covering influenced the field’s ecological environment and improved the rice performance with straw cover being optimal, it effectively improved the soil temperature and soil water content, reduced soil bulk density, increased the number of soil microorganisms and soil enzyme activities. Followed by the sugarcane leaf cover, and finally the two plastic film mulching (black and white film).2、the four different coverings’soil chemical properties were better than no cover treatment, among them, the best was the treatment with straw mulching, it effectively improve the rice field soil organic matter, total nitrogen, total potassium, total phosphorus, alkaline hydrolysis nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium content.3、the four different mulching treatments significantly improve the grouting period of chlorophyll content, increase grouting period of N, P, K content nutrient elements. After covering with the four different covers, chlorophyll content and N, P, K nutrition elements content were higher in the four than no cover, with straw mulching treatment being the best.4、the four different mulching treatments can increase the N, P, K content of the rice organs than the treatment with no cover. This is because, straw and sugarcane leaves coverage supply biofuels for rice, so the nutrient element content is significantly higher than the treatment with no cover. The black film and white film mulching treatment effects on different organs of rice nutrients overall increase is not higher compared to straw and sugarcane leaves.5、the four different mulching treatment proves to be beneficial in improving the agronomic traits of rice plant under covering mode and improved the yield, among them, straw cover improvement on the agronomic traits and the effect of increase production is most significant, followed by sugarcane leaves cover, two processing of plastic film mulching (black and white film) effect were poorer compared to the straw and sugarcane leaves.
