Studies On The Classification Of Management Types Of Collectively Owned Noncommercial Forest In Wuming Town

Non-commercial forest is crucial in the development of WuMing Town’s forestry. The key problem of the development in WuMing’s forestry is to manage non-commercial forest scientifically, compile management plan of non-commercial forest and so as to improve its quality and comprehensive benefit. Non-commercial forest management type classification is the key part in forest management measures.However, now, WuMing has no clear management type classification system. It just classify management type according to forest categories. Therefore, How to classify the non-commercial forest management type is important to study in the accordance with WuMing’s local conditions.This thesis takes the non-commercial forest of collective forest range in WuMing, GuangXi as the object of the research, bases on the data of sub-compartment of forest resources inventory, analyses the current situation comprehensively. Firstly, synthesized various field work, data statistic, experts discussion, documents, the economic and forestry conditions. And the4indices of the basis of organizing management types were put forward as management target, species(group), site, origin. Set down management measure accordingly to different management types and shape the complete technological system of management measures by using hierarchical method operate on the non-commercial forest types. The study provides the production unit wirh theoretical basis tp manage non-commercial forest and provide the town with reference consultation to compile management plan of non-commercial forest.The results are as follows:1. The characteristics of non-commercial forest in WuMing Town are:the concentrated continuous districts of non-commercial forest is the hilly areas at high altitude around WuMing basin, and the non-commercial forest is sparsely distributed in hills and plains, which area is small. Forest types is rare, most of which are soil conservation forest in steep slope and forest in nature reserve of rocky desertification. There’s illogical species structure, mainly shrub and dungarunga. Natural forests are more than man-made forests. There’s high proportion of young and middle-aged trees, less proportion of mature forest. The layout and forest categories of non-commercial forest in WuMing need adjustment and the task in constructing non-commercial forest is heavy.2. Analyzed non-commercial forest resources of collective forest range in WuMing and the structure of main factors of non-commercial forest, And synthesized WuMing’s actual situation. The proposed non-commercial forest management type is based on forest origin, forest species(group), forest management purpose and land type.3. The area of th e non-commercial forest in WuMing is about46505.8hectares. There are2,922subcompartments which contain7second-forest species,12dominant species,3 origins,44site types and18management types classified by hierarchical method.4. WuMing Town is a big town which agriculture develops well, so it is important to construct non-commercial forest. According to different management goals of non-commercial forest in WuMing, the priority order of forest types is soil and water conservation forest, nature reserve forest, farmland shelterbelt, water conservation forest, scenic forest, national defense forest and other protection forests.5. Based on the18management types classified, considering the principles of motivated, systematic, maneuverable, pertinent and learning from nature, set down management measure accordingly to different management types and shape a full set of technological system of forest management measures according to local conditions scientifically, so as to take specific forest management measures for different forest management types. There are7management measure types classified, including closing forest, tending of young stand, management&conservation, improving low yield and inefficient stands, economic utilization and harvest utilization.
