A systematic survey on the parasitic nematodes of tobacco in Fujian provincetobacco production areas. Ten genera and twelve species of nematodes were identifiedin the rhizosphere soil of tobacco, including Meloidogyne incognita, Meloidogynejavanica, Rotylenchulus reniformis, Tylenchorhynchus claytoni, Helicotylenchusdihystera, Aphelenchus avenae, Paratylenchus projectus, Pratylenchus penetrans,Pratylenchus coffeae, Psilenchus hilarulus, Aphelenchoides saprophilus, Filenchusvulgaris. The population structures of parasitic nematodes of tobacco wereanalyzed.Tobacco root-knot nematodes were identified as M. incognita and M. javanica. Itis the first report of tobacco infected by R. reniformis in Fujian province. There were significant differences in the population and advantage of parasiticnematodes under various farming systems. Tobacco was severely infected by parasiticnematodes in dryland. Tobacco was seriously infected by root-knot nematodes and R.reniformis in field of tobacco rotation and tobacco-vegetable rotation. It could beeffectively controlled the occurrence of tobacco root-knot nematodes in paddy-uplandrotation. Thus, the population of rhizosphere nematodes of tobacco were obviouslydecreased. Most of them were ectoparasitic nematodes and saprophytic nematodes.
