Research On Landscape Application Of Ground Covers Of Nanchang City

studying on the application of groundcover plants in garden has the important meaning for the construction of ecological garden city,because of its landscape function, ecological function and economic function. the paper based on the theory of predecessors, groundcover plants are classified from five aspects that are the coverage of nature, ecology characteristics, biological characteristics, application of garden and ornamental features. Puts forward four principles that is scientific, functional, artistic quality, regional, which should be followed when overplants be appliqued in garden. Sums up the ground plants can be applied by flower border, flower bed, compose flower lawn, foundation planting and so on. categorizes and expounds the groundcover plants should be reasonable collocation and with landscape architecture that are the water body, terrain, road, building, garden sketch, etc factors.To investigate30garden green spaces of Nanchang, which be classified to the park green space, protective green space, attached green space, green production and other green space. The investigation include the species, planting mode, ornamental characteristics, application frequency, and the combination of the garden factors, and so on, which to be compared,analyzed, summarized,and the results show that:(1) The application of groundcover plants of Nanchang garden are belong to53families, a total of162species (including varieties), of which there are67species of grass,66species of wood,11species of vines,7species of bamboo,11species lawn grass;(2)The20species with highest frequency of application of herbal groundcovers, which are applied in the garden Greenland of Nanchang City, are Ophiopogon japonicus, Reineckia carnea, Liriope platyphylla, Ophiopogon bodinieri, Oxalis rubra, Zephyranthes candida, Salvia splendens, Zephyranthes grandiflora, Petunia hybrida, Chrysanthemum carinatum, Calendula officinalis, Coleus blumei, Tagetes patula, Tagetes erecta, Iris tectorum, Canna generalis, Trifolium repens, Brassica Oleracea, Setcreasea purpurea, Verbena hybrida;(3)The10species with highest frequency of application of woody groundcovers, which are applied in the garden Greenland of Nanchang City, are Loropetalum chinense, Ligustrum vicaryi,Rhododendronsimsii&R.spp., Photinia serrulata, Fatsia japonica, Ilex crenata, Ligustrum quihoui, Buxus microphylla, Buxus sempervirens, Camellia sasanqua, Osmanthus fragrans, Sabina chinensis, Gardenia jasminoides, Berberis thunbergii, Aucuba japonicaVariegata, CV.AUREA.NANA, Nandina domestica, Rhododendron pulchrum, Pyracantha fortuneana;(4) The main planting pattern is regular color block planting, less natural planting;(5)In the garden Greenland of Nanchang City, the main species, as Rhododend ronsimsii&R.spp., Loropetalum chinense, Buxus sempervirens, are indigenous groundcovers, which reflect characteristics of Nanchang. The groundcovers are dominated by woody and Perennial ones;(6) There are mainly foliage groundcovers, supplemented by flowering groundcovers occasionally the ornamental fruit Groundcovers;(7) The height of different groundcovers ranges from5cm to90cm, but with a relative small variations on the vertical configuration of groundcover.
