To study the restoring ability of the thermo-photo-sensitive genic male sterile line BNS,480conventional varieties were used as male parent to cross with BNS. And22restorer lineswith restoring rate up to50%were selected, and analyzed self-seedset rate of F1hybrids andseven agronomic characters. BNS was designed autumn and spring sowing, a total of fivesowing dates. The changes of the contents of endogenous phytohormones were measured byELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) to analyze the dynamic changes ofendogenous photohormones in different development stages of ear between male sterility andfertility of BNS. The results showed that:(1) Among22combinations of F1hybrids, the restoring force range from53.47%to93.81%(international method),42.42%to76.43%(domestic method). There were3combinations were fertile, the highest were XiNong9062, N9209Xuan and Wheat K460, andtheir self-seedset were93.81%,91.67%and91.38%, respectively. This indicatied that threemale lines may have restring genes.(2) The heterosis in F1hybrids performed in most characters was ubiquitous and positiveadvantages. In addition, the combinations of XiNong9062/BNS, N9209Xuan/BNS andWheat K460/BNS performed better among22entries in most characters excluding1000-grain weight, had the potential to be used in production.(3) At mononucleate stage of BNS, IAA,GA3and ZR contents in ear of sterile plantswere significantly lower than those of fertility plants,but ABA contents was higher in ear ofsterile plants. It is concluded that the reduction of the contents of IAA, GA3and ZR and theincrease of the contents of ABA were associated with the occurrence of male sterility.(4) The value IAA/ZR was not significant between male sterility and fertility plants ofBNS.The value of IAA/ABA was remarkably lower in ear of sterile plants than those offertility plants, on the contrary, the value of IAA/GA3, ABA/GA3were significantly higher inear of sterile plants than those of fertility plants, indicating that the breaks of the equilibriumrelationship of these four endogenous potohormones might affect plant normal growth.
