Drought and water shortage are key factors to inhibit the agriculture development. Lackof irrigation water, serious soil salinization, the agriculture production had been hindered tosustain and healthy development in Hetao Irrigation Area.,Retaining and conserving soilmoisture,reducing soil salinization, enhancing water and fertilizer utilization are the mostimportant prerequisite for solving agriculture development question in Hetao Irrigation Area.The paper utilized three kinds of materials, super absorbent, PAM, FA-handilong, and studiedthe soil moisture, soil temperature and spring wheat growth, to improve crop water useefficiency, improve crop yields, at the same time to compare different type material on thegrowth and development of spring wheat, to provide guidance for spring wheat productionand the application and popularization drought-resistance of super absorbent in HetaoIrrigation Area.1. Presenting the suitable application methods of super absorbent and PAMFurrowing, mixing, broadcasting super absorbent, PAM could improve the soil moisturecontent, improve soil moisture supply environment, reduce the soil range of temperature, andpromote the spring wheat growth and roots biomass. Comparing with control, the yields,water use efficiency and irrigation water output ratio by furrowing super absorbentrespectively increased by22.6%,17.4%and22.63%, broadcasting PAM respectivelyincreased by28.8%,25.5%and28.8%. Furrowing super absorbent and broadcasting PAMshould be the better application method in Hetao irrigation area.2. Presenting the suitable application satge of FA-handilongIn Hetao irrigation area spring wheat production, spraying FA-handilong couldsignificantly reduce the leaf invalid transpiration, improve photosynthetic rate, and improvesoil moisture, spring wheat yields and water use efficiency. Comparing with control, the yields of heading-flowering spraying increased by13.74%, water use efficiency increased by14.22%, irrigation water output rate increased by1%. Spraying FA-handilong in heading andflowering period could get better results than at heading or flowering period separately,moreover spraying FA-handilong at flowering stage was better than at heading stage.3. Super absorbent and PAM compounded with FA-handilong could promote springwheat production furtherWhile spring wheat sowing, furrowing super absorbent, broadcasting PAM, sprayingFA-handilong at heading stage, flowering stage could improve soil moisture, reduce the leafinvalid transpiration, improve photosynthetic rate. Comparing with control, furrowing superabsorbent combined with spraying FA-handilong, the yields increased by18.64%, water useefficiency increased by29.60%; broadcasting PAM combined with spraying FA-handilong,the yields increased by22.08%, water use efficiency increased by15.48%.Furrowing super absorbent and broadcasting PAM are the best application methods inHetao Irrigation spring wheat production, FA-hangdilong should be continuous sprayed inheading stage and flowering stage.
