Currently, environment control has become an important method of disease prevention and control,and disinfection proved to be one of the main content of environment control. This paper aim to investigatethe efficacy of chemical disinfectants which are widely used in pig farms controlling pathogenic bacteria.The study may provide a guideline for the rational applicaton of disinfectants. The main research contentsand results are as follows.1. Investigation on common bacterial disease in a pig farm in Shanxi provinceBacterial disease cases and inspection records were collected from clinical survey and laboratorydetection from January2011to January2013in a pig farm in Shanxi province. Through data analysis, sixhigh incidence of bacterial diseases were found in the pig farm, which were Escherichia coli, Salmonellosis,Streptococcus, Haemophilus parasuis, Atrophic rhinitis and Staphylococcus aureu. We analysed the causeof these diseases and proposed targeted prevention and treatment measurements. Eventually, these findingswill afford certain reference in applying disinfectants to curb the distribution of common bacterial diseases.2. Evaluation of the disinfection effect on the peripheral environment of the pig farmIn this section, we evaluated the disinfection efficacy of the vehicles and surrounding environment.Eight points were selected to collect the samples before and after disinfection.The samples were collectedfrom eight points,then cultured the bacteria, then recorded the colonies, calculated the standard deviationof colonies and then analyzed colonies reduced rate after disinfection. The results suggested that thedisinfection efficacy was ideal in most part of the surrounding environment. However, the efficacy ofsome areas were not, which is related to the cleaning work before disinfection. Making a reasonabledisinfection proposals is of great significance to evaluate the entire farm disinfection work.3. The sterilization efficacy of the third quaternary ammonium compounds disinfectant against porcinepathogenic bacteriaIn order to study the sterilization efficacy of the third quaternary ammonium compounds disinfectantagainst Escherichia coli, Salmonellosis, Streptococcus, Haemophilus parasuis, Atrophic rhinits andStaphylococcus aureu and determine the minimum bactericidal concentration of this disinfectant. Thisstudy followed by GB15981-1995. The pathogen interacted with the disinfectant for above1-3min, thenfull amount cultured, the sterilization rate can reach100%. The minimum bactericidal concentration for Escherichia coli, salmonellosis and Staphylococcus aureus was200mg/L, for streptococcus, haemophilusparasuis, pasteurella was20mg/L. Our result indicated that Bao yin brand disinfectant have high efficacyto common pathogenic bacteria. The disinfectant should be promoted in the veterinary clinical use.
