The blue gum chalcid, Leptocybe invasa Fisher&La Salle, recently invaded into China as a new quarantine pest. It was found to damage the species of Eucalyptus specifically, forming typical bump-shaped galls on the leaf midribs, petioles and young stems of host plants. The research from the view of ecology, minutely investigated the population dynamics of the blue gum chalcid’s adult number on the three kinds of Eucalyptus species (E.urophylla×E.camadulensi, E.grandis×E.urophylla.E.emserta) of eight climatic regions in Hainan Island and spatial distribution of Leptocybe invasa Fisher&La Salle were surveyed in Eucalyptus species in Danzhou, Hainan during August2011to July2012.The result showed that:1. Among the three Eucalyptus species, E. urophylla×E. camadulensi (Zhan-201)and E.emserta were seriously damaged by Leptocybe invasa Fisher&La Salle, E.grandis×E.urophylla(GL-9) was damaged slightly(P<0.01). From March to October in every year were the outbreak period of the blue gum chalcid damaged on three Eucalyptus species. The blue gum chalcid’s damage on three kinds of Eucalyptus species in the southwest mountain climatic region, the southwest coastal climatic region and northeast climatic region had more serious than other five climatic regions in Hainan Island(P<0.05).2. The Multiple linear regression was implemented to analysis the three kind of Eucalyptus species of eight climatic regions with the meteorological factor data from GIS system of eight climatic regions in Hainan Island,got21equations which have been established were efficacious. The result showed that, the influence of meteorological factors in each climatic region with the blue gum chalcid’s adult number were not the same, and also the influence of meteorological factors in different varieties of Eucalyptus species were not the same in some climatic regions. But, Monthly total precipitation, monthly mean temperature, monthly mean maximum temperature which had significant impact with the blue gum chalcid’s adult number in most climatic regions. 3. The whole plants which were damged by the blue gum chalcid were surveyed in three varieties of Eucalyptus species in Danzhou,Hainan during July2012. The galls and the holes of eclosion of the pests mainly concentrated on the top of the plants, but the number of galls varies on different sites in different varieties of Eucalyptus species, for E.grandis×E.urophylla(GL-9) type the pests mainly damaged the branches, for E.urophylla×E.camadulensi (Zhan-201)and E.emserta pests mainly damaged the petioles and branches.4. Surveyed the E. grandis×E. urophylla(GL-9) which were damged by the blue gum chalcid in Danzhou,Hainan during July2012. calculated the blue gum chalcid’s galls distribution type. The study showed that, the blue gum chalcid’s galls in leaves and branches all had an aggregated distribution and the blue gum chalcid’s galls in branches were more closely distributed than leaves.
