| The genus Gnophos Treitschke, and related genera, Ctenognophos Prout, Hirasa Moore, Psyra Walker and Loxaspilates Warren belong to tribe Gnophini of the subfamily Ennominae of Geometridae. A systematic study on these five genera from China is accomplished in the present dissertation. The whole work includes two parts: general discussions and systematics. The general discussions are composed of four different parts as following:Chapter1reviewed the study history of Geometridae, Ennominae and Gnophini.Chapter2discussed the morphologic structures with examples, and their significance in systematic taxonomy.Chapter3analyzed the geographical distribution of the Gnophos and related genera.Chapter4introduced the material and methods used in this dissertation in brief. The systematic part described64species of Gnophos and related genera (Gnophos, Ctenognophos, Hirasa, Psyra, Loxaspilate).Among them, the genus Gnophos described14species (including4subspecies), the genus Ctenognophos described9species (including5subspecies), the genus Hirasa described15species (including5subspecies), the genus Psyra described13species and the genus Loxaspilate described13species, all5genera are given species key, all64species including,1newly recorded species to China(Hirasa aereus (Butler,1880)),1new synonym(Gnophos.
