Paramichelia baillonii is the three level special state protection plants.In order to reproduct and protect the excellent genetic gene,it was introduced to Guangxi Nanning Liang Feng Jiang arboretum from China’s Yunnan provinceMengla county for reproduction and cultivation experiment in1978, it was verified the stand growth rhythm and soil physicochemical properties of the introduction area.The main results were as follows:(1) In the introduction area,for the4to5years’Paramichelia baillonii, the annual stand total DBH growth were3.30~5.48cm; the annual average were0.83~1.10cm; the total tree height increment were3.25~5.57m, the average were0.81~1.11m; the total annual volume were4.73~25.09m3/hm2, the annual average were1.18~5.02m3/hm2. For33to35years’Paramichelia baillonii,the annual stand total DBH growth were14.02-14.22cm; the annual average were0.41-0.43cm; the total tree height increment were13.94-14.63m, the average were0.42~0.43m; the total annual volume were272.21~310.88m3/hm2, the annual average were8.25~8.88m3/hm2. For33to35years’Param ichelia baillonii.(2) In the introduction area,for the4to5years’Paramichelia baillonii,the stand DBH.the tree height,and the volume of month growth rate were0.01-0.35cm,0.01~0.36m and0.02~4.63m3/hm2, the trend of the forest stand growth totally represented lowâ†'highâ†'low variation pattern.The forest growed each month in a year, which from August to October the growth was rapidder, the DBH and tree height monthly net growth reached0.27-0.35cm and0.17-0.35m; From December to February the growth was slower, monthly net growth were below0.09cm and0.10m. (3) In the Param ichelia baillonii introduction area,the soil (0-100cm layer) density was1.112~1.402g/cm3;the total porosity was47.47%~60.25%, which the non-capillary porosity accounted for1/6~1/3;the ventilation ratio was10.39%to19.60%; the largest, capillary and minimum water holding capacity were22.50%~42.76%,20.43%~40.69%and18.34%~37.93%.It showed that in the introduction area,the soil was compacter, soil aeration and water holding capacity was poor.(4) The soil pH value of0~100cm layer was4.02-4.32; the organic matter content was6.08%-30.64%; total N, P and K were0.58%~1.36%,0.27%~0.36%and2.02%~4.58%; available P, K were0.71~1.56mg/kg and3.27-40.20mg/kg; exchangeable Ca, Mg were78.11~147.98mg/kg and6.35~15.05mg/kg; effective Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn were1.60~3.25mg/kg,6.40~11.63mg/kg,44.23~188.33mg/kg and70.45~176.23mg/kg.It showed that except the soil P element content was lower, other elements were at a higher level in the introduction area.Taking introduting practice as explanation, the soil and climate conditions of planting Paramichelia baillonii was suitable in Guangxi Nanning suburb, the stand of the growth index was higher, the cultivation can promoted.
