Patinopecten Yessoensis developed rapidly in Liaoning Province, Shandong Province andother places since it was introduced to our country. Currently, the seedling gained from naturalhas significant advantages in the controlled breeding, which has important significance toimprove the breeding efficiency. But the spatial and temporal distribution of PatinopectenYessoensis planktonic larvae is uncertain, which caused great difficulties of natural seedling. Inthis paper, based on the built two-dimensional prediction model, a three-dimensional predictionmodel was set up, in which the effects of wind and temperature and other physical factors wasconsidered to predict the spatial and temporal distribution of Patinopecten Yessoensis planktoniclarvae in the Northern Yellow Sea.Firstly, hydrological data of Northern Yellow Sea was collected and analyzed and put intothe three-dimensional hydrodynamic model. After verification, the tide simulation resultsconsistent with the measured data. Therefore it can be concluded that the hydrodynamicnumerical model can be applied to simulate the flow fields in the Northern Yellow Sea.Secondly, the biological nature of Patinopecten Yessoensis was analyzed and the predictionmodel was built by the particle tracking model to simulate the passive drift and diffusion processof Patinopecten Yessoensis planktonic larvae which is influenced by wind and tide. The simulated results show that the passive drift and diffusion process of PatinopectenYessoensis planktonic larvae was mainly affected by flow tide and then was the wind. The flowfield is mainly affected by tidal force of moon and sun, therefore the rate of change is not solarge. The wind field is not stable during April to late May because it is affected by dualinfluence of ocean and continent. In April, wind direction is mainly southeast and in May winddirection is east. The hydrodynamic flow field direction is from northeast to southwest in theNorthern Yellow Sea due to the influence of tide and wind fields and topography. The directionof passive drift Patinopecten Yessoensis planktonic larvae is coincide with the hydrodynamicflow field direction, it will reach Bohai Bay in Lvshun eventually. This conclusion conformswith the relevant research materials, meanwhile illustrate the source problem of PatinopectenYessoensis in Lvshun from the perspective of numerical simulation.
