Picea schrenkiana var. tianschanica was a tree specie in the most widely distributed and the largest volume in the montane forest of Xinjiang, it was the main forest in Tianshan Mountains Forest ecosystem, it was very important to maintain the ecological balance and improve the ecological environment quality. Forest litterhas increased the soil fertility, promote nutrient circulation, to maintain ecosystem stability and hydrological ecological effect, and the function of forest carbon cycle as between plants and soil nutrient cycle of "link".This paper choice the different longitudes. P. schrenkiana var. tianschanica forest in Zhaosu, Xinyuan, Hutubi, Tianchi and Qitai along the Tianshan Mountains as the research object.Measurement and analysis of the geographic variation regularity of Picea schrenkiana var. tianschanica in the litter amount water-holdingcharacteristic、the nutrient element content.The results showed that:1)The total litter amount of Picea schrenkiana var. tianschanica in the5sites change s between (8.48±0.52) t-hm-2and (11.10±0.33) t-hm-2, and the order of value was Tianchi> Qitai> Zhaosu> Hutubi> Xinyuan. The litter amount in per unit area showed the eastern region> the central region> the western region.2)The litter amount of the non-decomposed litter was grater than that of the half-decomposed litter in the three sites of Hutubi、Tianchi and Qitai, and there were no remarkable differences between the non-decomposed litter and the half-decomposed litter(p>0.05). There were remarkable differences between the non-decomposed litter and the half-decomposed litter in Hutubi and Tianchi,Qitai(p<0.05). The litter amount of the non-decomposed litter was less than that of the half-decomposed litter in Qitai and Tianchi, there were no remarkable differences in the non-decomposed litter3)The equation between the water-holding capacity of litter and immersion time were Q=kln(t)+p, while the equation between the water absorption rate and soaking time were Y=kt. The equation between the water-holding rate of litter and immersion time were S=kln(t)+p. The water-holding rate showed increasing trend, the water-absorbent rates showed decreasing trend in the5different sites4)The order of the water-holding capacity and water-holding rate were Hutubi>Xinyuan>Tianchi>Zhaosu>Qitai in the5different sites, the water-holding capacity and water-holding ratet in the non-decomposed litter was greater than that the half-decomposed litter. The order of the greatest water-absorbent rates was Xinyua>Zhaosu>Hutubi>Tianchi>Qitai, the greatest water-absorbent rates had remarkable differences between Xinyuan and the four others (p<0.05).5)The nutrient element content of Picea schrenkiana var. tianschanica had differences, the C element content was greatest in Qitai. the N and P element content was greatest in Hutubi,the K、Ca and Mg element content was greatest in Zhaosu. The non-decomposed litter of the C element content was greater than that the half-decomposed litter, and The non-decomposed litter of the N、P、Ca and Mg element content was less than that the half-decomposed litter.6)The change trend of litter C/N and C/P was the same from west to east.and thay first showed increasing trend, then showed decreasing trend in the5different sites. The order of value of litter C/N and C/P was Xinyuan> Zhaosu> Hutubi> Tianchi> Qitai,and the non-decomposed litter was bigger than that of the half-decomposed litter.7) The highest and minimum value of totel carbon storage of five sites was Zhaosu and Tianchi,the order of value of totel carbon storage was Zhaosu> Qitai> Xinyuan> Hutubi> Tianchi;The highest and minimum value of carbon density of five sites was Qitai and Xinyuan, and its value was4.17tC/hm2and2.28tC/hm2,the order of value of the carbon density was Qitai> Tianchi> Hutubi> Zhaosu> Xinyuan.
