Since identified as the pathogen for the1918flu, the swine-origin influenza A(H1N1) virus has beenpaid great attention by people. This virus attracts wide attention again after Worldwide popular in2009.Through the detection of swine herd in some areas, the existence and spread of the novel swine-origininfluenza A(H1N1) virus in parts of the swine herd was found. To strengthen the detection, prevention andcontrol of the novel swine-origin influenza A(H1N1)’s existence and transmission in the crowd and swineherd, has a very important public health significance. To research into the swine-origin influenza A(H1N1) virus’s presence and epidemicsituations in swine herd in Shandong province, in this study, several pig farms in nine cities inShandong province was sampling inspected. We using the AGI-30to collected the pigstyinside and outside air samples, after treatment, using real-time quantitative RT-PCR to detectthe swine-origin influenza A(H1N1) virus content in air samples. There are157air samplescollected from the40pig farms. Through the air sample collection, processing and evaluation,The41samples was positive, the positive rate of indoor air samples in various regions is5.0%67.0%, The highest positive rate of indoor air samples in Dezhou region. The pig farmwhich has the highest virus content of indoor air samples was in Dezhou too, the virus contentwas6.72log10copies/m3air. Three positive samples were detected in37outside air samples. In early January2011, as reported by a local animal disease prevention and control center, respiratory diseases were found in a pig farm in Weifang, Shandong province that weresuspected to be influenza. Soon, similar infections emerged successively in some pig farmsdownwind of the first infected pig farm. Isolation and identification of pathogens using thenasopharyngeal swabs and clinical sample obtained from pigs from these farms confirmed thenovel swine-origin influenza A(H1N1) infection, and we get a novel swine-origin influenzaA(H1N1) isolate strain named wfc3. This virus strain’s TCID50is1.02×106/mL.This infection in Weifang, Shandong province spread speed and has a wide scope, Thesecharacteristics have a direct relationship with the main route of transmission of the virus. Therefore, the aerosol transmission model is established in this study, to verify that theair-borne transmission characteristics of this viruse strain in the experimental conditions. Inthe aerosol transmission model, the viruse strain wfc3can cause experimental pigs in aerosol infection group infected, but the infection rate is lower than the direct contact group. Thisstudy demonstrates that this novel swine-origin influenza A(H1N1) isolate strain is able to beaerosolized by infected animals and to be transmitted to susceptible animals by airborneroutes in the experimental conditions.
