As one kind of the biggest pests in China, chafers are harmful and affect agriculture, forest and stockbreeding in our country seriously. So it’s very important to study further and search for one way of chafers’prevention. This study collects more than20,000chafer samples in our studying section with different methods. And we have classified23species of chafers that harm crops mostly in our studying section through noting down their distribution and the sorts of crops they eat as well as wathing their shape characteristics according to some information. To Melolontha hippocastani Menetries one that harm more worse in some areas, we take measures to prevent them combining chemical methods with biological methods, to seek for some effective ways of preventing them. From our watching and classifying the chafers, We find that the variety of chafers’species in Ganzi and there are many differences of configuration in one chafer’s class as well as even in one kind at different growing stages. This conclusion makes it harder for us to classify one species of chafer. We need not only enough reference books but also necessary experience in studying chafers to identify the chafers’class and kind accuratelyThe main purpose of studying chafers is to prevent it. This study is to look for the best way of killing chafers through different methods of preventing Melolontha hippocastani Menetries. We find that preventing chafers with Beauveria brongniart is the most effective and environmental way. However, to make it better, we should colligate more methods. At the same time we choose the method when preventing chafers, we also think about the growing stage of chafers because at different growing stages they have different abilities to confront the prevention. Only when we consider completely, can we gain the best result.
