Nowadays, the increasing pomacea canaliculatas bring about great harm on the development of agriculture and the health of human. How to prevent and control the destroy of pomacea canaliculatas is a significant issue at present time. This research watches and checks pomacea canaliculata’s preference to food and the food consumption, finds out that there are12kinds of common plants that pomacea canaliculatas like to eat:water melon peel> cabbage leaves> cane shoots> sweet potato leaves, cucumber, luffa> pakchoi, jicama, potatoes, carrot, eggplants, pumpkin leaves. Meanwhile, we work out the daily food consumption of a grown pomacea canaliculata is9.45g±0.2g, food intake:weight=0.33:1.When a pomacea canaliculata is put into the solution of chelerythrine which is extracted from the macleaya cordata, it will try to keep away from the solution or just keep its shell closed. The shape and color of its shit both have changed. The solution kills pomacea canaliculata:168hLC50=8.1659mg/L. Female pomacea canaliculata is easy to be infected. When the solution concentration is below6mg/L, it’s ineffective to kill the pomacea canaliculata. The chelerythrine has obvious inhibition effect on the pomacea canaliculata’s egg production capacity. The pomacea canaliculata will stop laying eggs in one to two days after infected by the solution. This research uses the paraffin section method, comparing nine organs of normal and unnormal pomacea canaliculatas, and finds that the chelerythrine can cause similar pathological changes to different organs of the pomacea canaliculata. This research shows:the extracted powder chelerythrine from macleaya cordata will poison the organs of pomacea canaliculatas. The killing result is effective and can give reference to further studying of how chelerythrine kills pomacea canaliculatas. According to the pomacea canaliculata’s preference to food and the effect of the chelerythrine, the scientists can produce high-effective drugs to kill snails.
