Heterosis on main agricultural characters of eight parents and sixteen hybrids, which was carried followed a uncomplete diallel crossing, were analysed. Parents were evaluated by through the analysis of combining ability, and the theoretical basis was provided for parental selection. The result showed that:1. Heteroses of the pepper was common, and the averages value of mid-parent Heterosi of all agronomic characters were positive, most obvious to yield per plant, whose average value was39.19%.2. The averages value of over-parent heterosis of five agricultural characters, such as friut length, friut width, fruit number, fruit mass and plant yield, were positive. The top three agronomic characters were single fruit weight(15.54%), fruit number per plant(11.99%) and yield per plant(10.88%).3. The averages value of low-parent heterosi of all agronomic characters were positive, most obvious to weight per plant, whose average value was113.15%.4. The top three of the analysis results of index of heterosis of agronomic characters of the F1hybrids are plant yield (1.44), branch number (1.38) and fruit mass (1.37) respectively.5. There existed obvious relationship among heterosis on between plant hight and plant width, and between friut length and friut width, and between yield per plant and fruits number per plant, and between yield per plant and weight per plant. There also existed obvious relationship among heterosis on between frist flower nodes and fruits number per plant, and between the frist flower nodes and weight per plant.6. A3×B4was the best hybrid for breeding pepper with long fruit, and A1×B2was the best hybrid for breeding pepper with big fruit, and A4×B4was the best hybrid for breeding pepper with high yield.7. The experimental results showed that A4×B4has many advantages, such as high yield and good quality, early-maturing, disease-resistant ability, and strong resistance.
