Institute of Horticulture, Qinghai Academy of Agriculture and Forestry havefound yellow chilli pepper varieties in red chili pepper natural populations. No.H0809. In order to understand its main agronomic characters, fruit qualityrelationship better, this experiment uses the yellow capsicum H0809and10redcapsicum varieties (lines) for material resources. The Characteristic and Heterosis ofF1which using Yellow Chili Pepper for Female Parent was studied and the changesof chlorophyll, carotenoid during its ripening was discussed.The main results are asfollows:1.1yellow chill pepper and10common red chill peppers were used for the11incomplete top-cross. The heterosis of each character, general combining ability wasanalyzed based on the data from field experiment and were used to classify heteroticgroups by analyzing general combining ability of eight agronomic characters. Theresult indicated that the heterosis was ubiquitous and positive advantages wereperformed in most characters. All the characters except its canopy showed a positiveheterosis, having a higher positive heterosis over mid-parents, better-parents andstandard heterosis. General combining ability and heterosis value was positivelycorrelated.2. The fruit color control genes for yellow chilli pepper was recessive mutationsgene, fruit red to fruit yellow was dominant, through this research,the fruit color ofyellow chilli pepper was controlled by a pair of homozygous recessive genes,whichwas stable heritable.3. The relativity of plant characters with fruit characters for chilli pepperresources was as follows:There was a positive correlation between fruit width andfruit weight. Twigs per plant and protein were appeared to most positiverelatively;plant main branch number and soluble sugar were appeared to mostnegative relatively to plant spreading.Vitamin C with soluble sugar was appeared tomost negative relativity. fruit pulp thickness were significant positive to Vc and was positive to protein.Fruit width with fruit weight was appeared to most positiverelatively.Vc and soluble sugar was appeared negative relatively.Other characters hadeffect to each other,but not significant. As a whole,fruit pulp with nutrition wasappeared to positive effect.4. The content of Vc, soluble sugar and carotenoid were gradually increasedduring the maturation of fruit.The content of chlorophyll were decreased during thematuration,the change rule of protein was different between these4varieties(lines).In the parent H0809, the fruit in red ripe period still contains some chlorophyllcontent, but the chlorophyll content in F2generation was reduced to almost zero,through correlation analysis found that: capsicum chlorophyll had a significant orextremely significant negative correlation to carotenoid content,from table3-7andfig.3-6to3-9speculated that maternal H0809color was slightly different to F2generation may be attributed to the red ripe fruit still contains some chlorophyllcontent.
