With the improvement of people’s living standard, fruit is more and more demanded. Fruit industry has been booming in the hilly terrain in recent years as it’s not suitable for growing grain. Orchard management need much labor, but get low efficiency, especially because of the shot period of fruit harvest, it spends a lot of time, if the product can’t be harvest and transported out of the orchard timely, it will result in a great economic loss. But at present there are less researches about the orchard operating machines in mountainous and hilly region.With the transfer of the rural population, mechanize is an inevitable trend for China’s fruit industry development.According to the condition of mountainous and hilly terrain, this thesis designed a orchard working machine which can walk freely in the orchard, this type of machine worked chiefly for transportation, it also provided external power interface. The main contents are as follows:1. According to the most orchard planting mode and road conditions in the condition of mountainous and hilly region, this thesis put forward the design requirements of working machine’s overall dimensions, and then drew up the design value for the basic performance parameters such as minimum turning radius, maximum ground clearance and maximum up slope of the working machine.2. This thesis selected the appropriate engine according to the using condition of working machine, It determined the total transmission ratio according to the highest speed requirement of the design and the power demand of working machine. It also determined the transmission mode.3.This thesis determined the driving mode of the working machine was PART-TIME4WD, it could satisfy the power conversion of two drive walking, four drive walking, no walking with providing external power, waling with providing external power. It designed a transfer case with three power output shaft which satisfied the using requirement. 4. This thesis selected and designed the components assembly and parts of working machine, it selected the wheel, front and rear axle, suspension and brake etc. it also designed the steering mechanism, shifting mechanism etc. Combined the assembly structure with the force condition of working machine, this thesis designed the frame. It constructed the three-dimensional map of the components assembly and vehicle assembly diagram with PROE. Compared the system parameters of the designed working machine with the required value, it got the result that this machine was satisfied with the requirements.5.This thesis analyzed the stress in four common limit conditions of the frame by the finite element analysis software ANSYS, got the value of stress and deformation of the frame’s each location, it found and ameliorated the unreasonable position of the structure design, and then got the new frame structure. By the analysis of the new frame, the text founded the stress distribution was improved reasonably, it improved the material utilization and reduced the overall weight of the frame.6.At last, this thesis made the modal analysis for the frame and got first six natural frequencies and the results of vibration mode. Analysis results showed that frame’s natural frequencies can avoid the frequency effecting caused by uneven road perfectly (1~15MPa).But the outbreak frequency caused by engine speed in3000r/min and5100r/min would cause the resonance of frame. So, it should avoid long time operation of the engine in the two speed around.
