With the improvement of people’s material standards of living and changes in theenvironment, the incidence of stroke is rising in China. Studies have shown that earlystroke rehabilitation exercise training can significantly reduce morbidity. Early strokepatients can generally not move independently, so the development of the early strokerehabilitation training devices that are used for the passive traction therapy by strokepatients with limb becomes extremely important. This paper first introduces the research status of stroke rehabilitation instruments;meanwhile, it analyzes the characteristics and causes of stroke. On the basis of the strokerehabilitation theory, the role of exercise training on muscle function and rehabilitationand the therapeutic effect of the infrared electric film, this paper uses passive tractiontherapy and infrared electric film to treat stroke patients with upper limb. The research projects focus on the design of stroke early upper limb rehabilitationsystem that is based on the theory of neural plastic and against the characteristics of earlystroke patients. The system hardware contains a microprocessor unit, the solenoid valveassembly, pump, charging and discharging the gas gloves, the pressure sensor andtemperature sensor, and the infrared electric film. Microprocessor controls some devices toextension and retraction the inflation and deflation device that leads upper limb tractionmovement. The design uses LCD display module to display and uses buttons to control thenumbers of charge and discharge gas, pressure and temperature. It can be stopped at anytime to ensure safety. In order to avoid the passive strain of the limb parts and acceleratethe recovery of limb motor function, the project uses infrared electric film to treat thestroke limb on infrared physiotherapy.
