Objective:We measured dynamic change with the levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG) and serum lipid in patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI) in quire in tworelations and NIHSS scores to further investigate the effect of berberine hydrochlorideand atorvastatin on the levels of serum glucose and lipid, and then discussed thepathophysiologic mechanism of berberine and atorvastatin.Method:We selected56healthy patients as control group and94patients withACI as cerebral infarction (CI) group, the patients of CI group satisfied the criterions, inaccord with standard of gender and exclusion, age composition of comparable(P>0.05).The CI group then was further divided randomly into three groups, the standard groupwas30cases, the berberine group (patients took BBR and regular treatment) was33cases and the statin group (patients took atorvastatin) was31cases,and they were allcomparable on gender, age propoption and the severity of the disease (P>0.05).We usedturbidimetry to measure the levels of FBG and serum lipid on baseline and the10thdayafter the admission to hospital, in order to find the changes between the time-points andfurther investigate whether berberine could reduce FBG and serum lipid. The loss ofneurological function was measured twice on baseline and the10thday by thespecialized neurologist according with NIHSS scale. All the results on baseline weremarked as “1” and those on the10thday were marked as “2”, and (1subtract2) wasmarked as D-value. All the datum were analyzed by SPSS11.5statistics software. Thesignificance level for bilateral test was less than0.05(P<0.05).Results:1.The levels of FBG1of cerebral infarction group were significantly higher thancontrol group(P<0.01);The levels of serum TC1,TG1, LDL-ch1and HDL-ch1had no significant difference with control group.2.The level of FBG2of the CI group had significantly positive relationship withthe NIHSS2scores,but the levels of serum TC2and LDL-ch2of the CI group had nosignificantly correlated to the NIHSS2scores.3.The levels of FBG1and FBG2of cerebral infarction group had no significantdifference with serum lipid.4.The FBG, lipid levels in the conventional group, berberine group and statintreatment, no significant difference. The levels FBG and TG of the standard group twotimes had no significant difference with the first and the second times FBG and TG. Thelevels of serum TC2and LDL-ch2were lower than TC1and LDL-ch1(P<0.01), Thelevels of serum HDL-ch2were lower than HDL-ch1(P<0.05);The levels TC2of thestandard group were lower than control group(P<0.05),The levels FBG2, TG2,LDL-ch2and HDL-ch2of the standard group had no significant difference with control group. The levels of serum FBG2,TC2, LDL-ch2and HDL-ch2of berberine group weresignificantly lower than FBG1,TC1,LDL-ch1and HDL-ch1(P<0.01). The levels ofserum TG2had no significant difference with TG1.The FBG D-value, the serum TCD-value, the serum TG D-value,and the serum HDL-ch D-value of the berberine groupwere significantly higher than the standard group(P<0.05). The levels of serum FBG2ofberberine group were significantly higher than control group(P<0.05),the levels ofserum TC2, LDL-ch2, and HDL-ch2of berberine group were lower than control group(P<0.05),but the levels of serum TG2had no significant difference with control group. The levels of serum FBG2of statin group had no difference with FBG1; Thelevels of serum TC2,HDL2and LDL-ch2of statin group were lower than TC1,HDL1and LDL-ch1(P<0.01),the levels of serum TG2had no significant difference withTG1; The levels of serum FBG2of statin group had no significant difference with thestandard group; The levels of serum TC2,HDL2and LDL-ch2of statin group werelower than the standard group (P<0.05); The FBG D-value of statin group had nosignificant difference with standard group, the serum TC D-value, the serum TGD-value,the serum LDL-ch D-value and the serum HDL-ch D-value of statin groupwere higher than the standard group(P<0.05); The levels of serum FBG2were higherthan control group(P<0.05),the levels of serum TC2,LDL-ch2and HDL-ch2were lowerthan control group(P<0.05),but the levels of serum TG2had no significant differencewith control group. The levels of serum FBG2of berberine group were lower than the statin group(P <0.05); The levels of serum TC2,TG2,LDL-ch2and HDL-ch2of berberine group hadno significant difference with the statin group. The FBG D-value of berberine groupwere higher than the statin group(P<0.05), the serum TC D-value, the serum TGD-value,the serum LDL-ch D-value and HDL-ch D-value of berberine group had nosignificant difference with the statin group.Conclusions:1.The level of FBG increased in the acute phases of CI and the level of the serumlipid had unconspicuous change. The level of FBG,TC and LDL-ch had closely relatedwith the occurren of CI.2.The level of FBG were positively related to the severity of neurologicdeficits, the higher of the FBG,the more serious of disease.3.The level of FBG had corelation with the level of the serum lipid in the acutephases of CI unconspicuous.4.The effect on the level of FBG between BBR(2.1/day) and Atorvastatin(20mg/day), The former could reduce the level of FBG significantly,The latter couldreduce the level of FBG unconspicuous, they could both reduce the level of TC,LDL-chand HDL-ch significantly and had no difference, indicate that BBR was better thanAtorvastatin during the acute phase of CI(refers to the dose of this research)...
