Objective:1. Observation of patients with newly diagnosed type2diabetes alpha-lipoic acidinfusion after treatment, serum total SOD activity, MOA content and HOMA-βlevelchanges.2. Comparison of alpha lipoic acid, Shuxuetong on newly diagnosed type2diabetic patients in vivo oxidative stress levels and pancreaticβcell function protection.Methods: From2011March-2011December in Shenyang Fourth People’s hospitalhospitalization in patients with type2diabetes (1999WHO according to the diagnosticcriteria for diabetes mellitus) a total of63cases. There were23male,40female cases.After the admission of patients before treatment were given control of blood glucose,blood lipid, blood pressure and other metabolic index, the index and make it in a week.Collecting all patients age, duration, blood pressure, height and weight and othergeneral information, and calculated body mass index (BMI), fasting plasma glucose(FBG), insulin (FINS), serum lipids (total cholesterol, triglycerides, including HCOLTG LDL-C, low density lipoprotein, high density lipoprotein HDL-C), serum SOD,MDA were measured and insulin (FINS). And then randomly divided into two groups:(1) alpha lipoic acid group43cases, given alpha lipoic acid600mg/D intravenousinfusion for14days;(2) blood group in20cases,30mg/D Shuxuetong intravenousinfusion for14days. Measurement of serum SOD again, MDA and insulin (FINS)index. The spectrophotometric measurement and calculate the content ofmalondialdehyde, total superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. Among them, MDAusing thiobarbituric acid reaction colorimetric method, SOD uses the adjacent benzenethree phenolic autoxidation of inhibition of colorimetric method. In the early phaseinsulin secretion index HOMA-β[HOMA-β=20x FINS/(FBG-3.5)] as the assessment of insulin secretion function. Comparison of before and after treatment thefollowing indices: the malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD),HOMA-β. Statistical analysis: using SPSS16.0statistical analysis, data using the mean+SD, normal distribution data, compared before and after treatment with t inspection,between the two groups were compared with t test, because the HOMA beta for nonnormal distribution, statistical analysis before its natural logarithm transformation. P<0.05for the difference was statistically significant.Results:1. Two groups of newly diagnosed type2diabetic patients were accepted, alphalipoic acid on oxidative stress and sugar before treatment, total serum SOD activity,MDA content and HOMA beta levels without significant difference.2. Alpha lipoic acid group given alpha lipoic acid intervention14D. Comparisonof serum total SOD activity, MDA content and HOMA-βlevels, total serum SODactivity was significantly elevated (P<0.05), MDA content decreased significantly (P <0.01), HOMA beta levels have significant differences.3. Effects of Shuxuetong on intervention group was given14days. Comparison ofserum total SOD activity, MDA content and HOMA-βlevels, total serum SOD activityincreased (P <0.05), decreased the content of MDA (P <0.01), HOMA beta level hasdifference.4. Two groups of patients were subjected to alpha lipoic acid and Shuxuetonginjection in treatment of14d, total serum SOD activity with significant difference (P <0.05), MDA content had significant statistical difference (P <0.01), HOMA-βwateralso has significant differences.Conclusion:1. Alpha lipoic acid as an antioxidant, for newly diagnosed type2diabeticpatients with attenuating oxidative stress state at the same time, also has a restoredantioxidant capacity protection..2. For newly diagnosed type2diabetic patients, control of glucose toxicity, lipidtoxicity after application, alpha lipoic acid infusion therapy, in addition to improve thein vivo oxidative stress status, further protection and restoration of islet beta cellfunction, especially the early phase function, which is essential for early diabeticpatients is improved in vivo metabolic disorders with of greater significance.3. For newly diagnosed type2diabetic patients, application of lipoic acidtreatment than the application of Shuxuetong in treatment, to improve the oxidative stress status in vivo and pancreatic beta cell protection has the certain superiority.
