Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveFibroblast growth factor10(FGF10) signaling pathway is crucial to thereconstruction of lung development and lung epithelial. To investigate the relationshipbetween gene polymorphism and susceptibility in fibroblast growth factor10(FGF10)to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Han population of North China.MethodsA case–control study of220COPD patients and285control subject wasconducted. Six tagging SNPs in FGF10, including rs10473352, rs16873956,rs2973644, rs1011814, rs10402070, rs723166and rs723166were genotyped by RFLP(rs10473352, rs16873956and rs2973644) and SNaPshot (rs10402070, rs723166andrs723166) assay. Chi-square test was used to perform the Hardy-Weinberg test.Uncondition logistic of regression model was used to calculate odds ratio (OR) and95%confidence interval (CI).Age,smoking index, duration of disease, body massindex by t-test.Results1.The alleles and genotypes of rs2973644distributed significantly differently inCOPD patients and controls (χ~2=6.188、6.021P<0.05) The genotypes of rs10473352distributed significantly differently in COPD patients and controls(χ~2=6.213P<0.05).2. COPD group and the control group rs16873956, rs1011814, rs10402070,rs723166genotype, genotype frequencies of the two groups, allele distribution wasnot statistically significant. 3.rs1011814group in patients with COPD light and heavy, very severe groupthere were significant differences in the genotype distribution.Conclusion:FGF10gene SNPsites rs2973644, rs10473352polymorphism may beassociated with susceptibility to COPD in Han population of North China..Thers1011814SNP may be associated with severity of COPD...
