Objective: The clinical efficacy of combination of Anodyne Therapy system andmecobalamin on Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) was observed. Methods:Conformed DPN Patients who were hospitalized in the fifth affiliated hospital of Xinjiangmedical university from Feb2011to Aug2012were selected and divided into two groups.Based on the glucose-lowering treatment to both groups, treatment group (n=57) wereoffered with Anodyne Therapy system as well as mecobalamin, while control group wereoffered with only mecobalamin. Two weeks later, FBG,2hPBG, clinical symptoms andneuroelectrophysiological changes were observed before and after treatment andcompared. Results:1. The conduction velocities of both motor nerve and sensory nerve ofall patients were enhanced after treatment. The conduction velocities of treatment groupwere significantly enhanced compared with those of control group (p<0.05).2. MNSI ofboth groups decreased. MNSI of treatment group were significantly lower than those ofcontrol group (p<0.05).3. The improvement rate of the clinical syndromes of treatmentgroup was significantly higher than that of control group (p<0.05). Conclusions: Thisstudy showed that combination of Anodyne Therapy system and mecobalamin couldincrease the conduction velocities of both motor nerve and sensory nerve of DPN patientseffectively and improve the clinical syndrome. Hence, combination of Anodyne Therapysystem and mecobalamin is an effective method of DPN treatment, which could be appliedin clinical work.
