Objections:To analyze and summarize the reasons for the recurrence after varicose vein of lower limb in this region and experience of diagnosis and treatment, put forward the preventive measures for the recurrence and forther regulate the diagnosis and treatment for varicose vein of lower limb in order to improve the curative effect of varicose vein of lower limb.Materials and methods:A retrospective analysis of clinical data of87cases (116injured unilateral limbs) of patients with recurrence after varicose vein of lower limb treated in vascular surgery department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from October,2005to October,2012was performed. All the patients were underwent ascending venography of varicose of lower limb and (or) color Doppler ultrasonography to analyze and summarize the reasons for the recurrence after varicose vein of lower limb. Results:The reasons for recurrence:great saphenous vein trunk and branches residue occurred in43limbs, accounted for37.06%; great saphenous vein occurred in25limbs, with21.55%; perforating veins insufficiency occurred in72limbs, with62.07%; deep venous valve insufficiency occurred in63limbs, with54.31%; both perforating veins insufficiency and deep venous valve insufficiency occurred in46limbs, with39.56%;3systems lesion including superficial, deep venous valve and perforating veins occurred in24limbs, with20.69%; iliac vein stenosis occurred in7limbs, with6.03%; sequelae after deep vein thrombosis occurred in16limbs, with13.79%; venous malformation of lower limb occurred in4limbs, with3.45%.Conclutions:The reasons for the recurrence after varicose vein of lower limb are relatively complicated, typically involving3systems of perforating veins, perforating veins inefficiency and residue of superficial veins trunk and branches as the important reasons; unclear preoperative diagnosis, improper way of operation, operation technical errors and postoperative treatment deficiency as the main reasons. Comprehensive preoperative image examination, accurate diagnosis, treatment according toclinic-etiologic-anatomic-pathophysiological CEAP grading rigorous operation, optimizing the technical scheme, precise surgery operation and attention to the postoperative treatment can reduce the recurrence after varicose vein of lower limb.
