We would like to analyze the prevalence and epidemic characteristics of HtV and syphilis,to explore the related risk factors of the impact of HIV and syphilis infection. That may provide theory basis for carrying out prevention and control measures for HIV and Syphilis in the future. Methods:Dermatology&STD clinic doctors gathered all the patients’ question-naire content from Dermatology&STD clinic during January1999to December2011in Department of Dermatology and Venereology,The First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, including their name, gender, age, nation, degree of education, occupation, marital status, sexual partners, condom use, sexual orientation, drug addiction history and spouses’Characteristics. To collect their vein blood for testing HIV antibodies and(or) syphilis antibodies in the premise of informed consent. We Marked the results of the questionnaire content and blood sample test with numbers. After inputing the datas into Excel form,we utilize SPSS17.0software for statistical analysis to analyse the trends in prevalence and epidemic characteristics of HIV and syphilis and to explore the related risk factors of the impact of HIV and syphilis infection.Results:(1)There were9654cases tested for HIV and174were positive, the positive incidence of HIV was1.8%,and it was on rise as a whole from1999to2011. The positive incidence of HIV in Females was higher than in males. There were no significant differences among age groups about the HIV positive incidence. It was higher in divorce/widowhood than in married and unmarried groups. With the rising Level of education the positive incidence of HIV was reduced,it was3.0%among the Junior high school degree and the following people, the most higher was in illiteracy5.6%.Among the occupations, the positive incidence of HIV in unemployed was higher than in other groups. The mainly transmission of HIV was sexually transmitted, Followed by drug abuse and mother-to-child transmission. The positive incidence of HIV in cases who had three or more sexual partners was2.5times higher than those who had only one sexual partner. The HIV positive incidence in the never using condom group was higher than that in the other two groups in unmarried group. And in the married/divorce/widowhood group, the HIV positive incidence in the condom consistent use was lower than that in the other two groups. The positive incidence of HIV was5times higher in those whose spouses/partners had STD history than those whose spouses/partners didnt had STD history.(2)There were11787cases tested for syphilis and1621were positive, The positive incidence of syphilis was13.8%, and it was on rise as a whole from1999to2011. The positive incidence of syphilis in females was higher than in males. It was higher in the50and above age group than that in15-24and25-49age groups. And it was higher in married than in unmarried and divorce/widowhood groups. With the rising Level of education the positive incidence of syphilis was reduced, the most higher was in illiteracy. Among the occupations, the positive incidence of syphilis in unemployed was higher than in other groups. The positive incidence of syphilis in cases who had three or more sexual partners was higher than those who had only one or two sexual partners. Condom use was associated with HIV positive incidence in both married/divorced/widowhood and unmarried groups. In unmarried group, the positive incidence of syphilis in the condom consistent use people is3.6times higher than that in sometimes and never using condom, and in married/divorced/widowhood group, the number is2.1.The positive incidence of syphilis was2.8times higher in those whose spouses/partners had STD history than those whose spouses/partners didnt had STD history.(3)There were6825cases tested for both HIV and syphilis,and32were positive, the double prevalence was0.5%. The positive incidence of HIV was higher in those who were infected by syphilis than in those who were not,and also, the positive incidence of syphilis was higher in those who were infected by HIV than in those who were not. Conclusion:Both the prevalence of HIV and syphilis infection were on rise from1999to2011in Yunnan Province. HIV and syphilis has spread from high-risk groups to general population.Multiple partners, low levels of condom use, spouses/unaware-ness having STD history were independent risk factors both for acquisition of HIV and syphilis. Its need to strengthen the measures for the prevention and control of AIDS, especially to the females, less education,Low socio-economic status and divorced/widowhood groups.
