In order torealize the chemical constituents of Bergenia pururascens deeply, and search for thecompounds which are similar to the structure of bergenin. By use of variouschromatography technology,9compounds were isolated from the methanol extractionvia column chromatography and purification: Bergenin (1)ã€Oleanic acid (2)ã€Arbutin(3)ã€Afzelechin (4)ã€11-O-galloyl bergenin (5)ã€Gallic acid (6)ã€Breynioside A(7)ã€Diethyl disulfoxide (8)ã€(+)-Catechin (9)ã€Phenols and flavonoid included in thesecompound types. Among them, compounds4ã€7and8were isolated from this plantfor the first time, and compound8was the sulfocompound isolated from Bergeniaplants for the first time.Chapter3The research progress of Bergenia plantsIn this part, we carried out a comprehensive summary that aim to the chemicalconstituents and bioactivities,consist of structure reformation and their derivates’bioactivities of Bergenia plant on the basic of literatures.
