Association Of The Polymorphism Of Beta3-adrenergic Receptor Gene And The Leptin Gene With Karzak Obese Children In Xinjiang

Objective: To investigate the association between the C-2549A polymorphism ofleptin gene and the Trp64Arg polymorphism of theβ3-adrenergic-receptor gene andobesity in Karzak children. Methods: Totally92obese children and71controls wereselected from6to12years old Kazak school-age children from the area around Urumqi.Genotype of the C-2549A polymorphism of leptin gene and the Trp64Arg polymorphismof β3-AR gene was determined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restrictionfragment length polymorphism methods (RFLP). Results:1)Obesity and controls ofKarzak children, the difference on distribution of the β3-AR Trp64Arg genotype of twogroups was statistically significant, but the difference on distribution of the alleles was notstatistically significant.2)the difference on distribution of the leptin C-2549A genotype andalleles of two groups were all statistically significant, the Odds ratio of the alleles(0.608)and95%CI of Odds ratio (0.380to0.972),they suggested the mutations occur ofobesity may had certain protective effect.3)the difference on distribution of the genotypeof β3-AR Trp64Arg polymorphism and leptin gene promoter area C2549A polymorphismin the same individual joint action of two groups was statistically significant, but thedifference on distribution of the alleles in the same individual joint action of two groupswas not statistically significant. Conclusions:1)There were distributions of the Trp64Argpolymorphism of β3-AR gene and the C-2549A polymorphism of leptin gene in Karzakschool-aged children in XinJiang.2)These results suggested that C-2549A mutation ofleptin gene may had certain protective effect in Karzak children obesity,and the Trp64Argpolymorphism of β3-AR gene may be associated with Karzak children obesity.3)These results suggested that the Trp64Arg polymorphism of β3-AR gene and the C-2549Apolymorphism of leptin gene in the same individual joint action may be associated withKarzak children obesity.
