Objective: To investigate the main risk factors for postoperative complications, incardiac cancer following cardiectomy. Methods: The data of377cardiac cancer patientsunderwent cardiectomy between January2007and December2011were analyzedretrospectively. Logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the risk factors forpostoperative complications in those patients. Results: Univariate statistical analysisshowed12factors was closely related to postoperative complications in the24factors,Among them age, weight loss>10%, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),heart disease, diabetes, cirrhosis of the liver, lesion length, physician surgical operation, surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative blood transfusion and invaded thesurrounding organs were the risk factors. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showedthat postoperative complications were associated with age, COPD, diabetes mellitus, heartdiseases, surgeon’operative volume, operative time, blood loss, invasion to the adjacentorgan. Conclusion: age, COPD, diabetes mellitus, heart diseases, surgeon’operativevolume, operative time, blood loss, invasion to the adjacent organ, were the independentrisk factors associated with complications in cardiac cancer post cardiectomy.
