| Objective:The purpose of this study is to assess polymerase chain reaction(PCR) andimmunohistochemical (IHC) was applied to detect the expression of humanpapillomavirus(HPV)16/18DNA and cytokeratin (CK) AE1/AE3in lymph node todetermine the presence of micrometastasis to investigate their clinical significance.Methods:By PCR and IHC technique had been used to detect HPV16/18DNA andCKAE1/AE3in209lymph nodes from30patients with cervical cancer. The relationshipbetween micrometastasis and pathological findings in pelvic lymph nodes of cervicalcancer was analyzed. Results:HPV16/18DNA and CKAE1/AE3for detection of positivelymph node micrometastasis was18.59%, significantly higher than conventionalpathological HE staining, the difference wasstatistically significant (P <0.05). Among thelymph nodes with micrometatasis, the positive rate of obturator lymph nodes,internalandexternal iliac lymph nodes was23.58%,14.29%and12.32%. Lymph nodesmicrometatasis were associated FIGO stage (P<0.05). Conclusion: Detection ofHPV16/18DNA and CKAE1/AE3can help us to find the micrometastasis in lymph nodesearly. HPV16/18DNA and CKAE1/AE3can be used as a maker to detecte micrometastasis.Detection of HPV16/18DNA and CKAE1/AE3may help to find the early metastases thatcan’t be histopathologically examined. Detection of HPV16/18DNA and CKAE1/AE3inlymph nodes can increase the micrometastasis rate in cervieal caner more accurately.Thepositive rate of obtutator lymph nodes was higer than other lymph nodes mean while. Themicrometastasis increases with the progression of clinical stage. |
