Objective: Use retrospective cohort study to research changes of the natural history and analysis offactors of the polypoid lesions of gallbladder (PLG) in Xinjiang Shihezi region, which could provide ascientific basis for timely and reasonable intervation on PLG.Methods: Review, from July of1997to July of2012, was made on138patients with PLG in our hospitalwho were detected by abdominal uhrasonography and didn’t undergo cholecystectomy (removingsuspicious patients for gallbladder cancer). Then long-term follow up was done for the change of diameterand number of polyp upon patients with PLG through uhrasonography.Using a unified " gallbladderpolypoid change the natural course of follow-up questionnaire " collection various data of patients in thedepartment of hepatobiliary surgery Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University, including patientinformation, past medical history, diagnosis and follow-up relevant information, using radiographicparameters calculation of changes of polyps in size and number were retrospective cohort study.Results:1. Diameter of polyps of56cases of138patients increased, number of polyp of16patientschanged from single to multiple, the polyp of6patients reduced (2cases) or disappeared (4cases) and76patient showed no changes in diameter or number.2. Change of the factors in polyp-regrowing group, compared with those of poly-no-regrowing group, was statistically significant(P<0.05), such as gender、BMI、 smoking、 high-fat diet、non-vegetarian diet、irregular eating and pungency diet.3. Change of thefactors in polyp-regrowing, group compared with those of poly-no-regrowing group, was no significant(P>0.05), such as the diameter, number, position and shape of the poly.4.2risk factors of polyp-regrowingwere identified and ranked according to contribution in the following order:body mass index(BM I)>24.0,high-fat diet.Conclusion:1.The diameter of polyps increased slowly about0.6mm every year in Xinjiang Shiheziregion.2. The following factors involved may boost polyp regrowing. Gender、smoking、normal BMI,no-cholesterol diet, vegetarian diet、regular diet and bland diet.
