[Background] Coronary artery disease is a significant cardiovascular disease threatening tothe health of the middle-aged.Latest evidences indicate epicardial adipose tissue thicknessmight be a critical risk factor of coronary artery disease. The coronary artery inflammationcan be stimulated form the outside to inside, and the epicardial adipose tissue might serveas a therapeutic target for the disase.[Objective] To investigate the relationship between epicardial adipose tissue thickness andthe pathogenesis, risk factors and severity of coronary artery disease, which can furtherguide the clinical application.[Methods] Randomly select patients in our hospital who simultaneously underwentcoronary angiography and chest computed tomography.According the diagnosis standard ofcoronary artery disease, divide the patients into two groups:coronary artery disease groupand non-coronary artery disase one. Then, respectively record the data of two groupsincluding the angiography result, the epicardial adipose tissue thickness measured bycomputed tomography, the laboratory and other general information. Finally, sort out themand make a statistic analysis. [Results] The epicardial adipose tissue thickness of the coronary artery disease group issignificantly higher than the non-coronary artery disease group(9.26±2.0mm vs.5.63±1.00mm,p<0.01).Significant correlation between the epicardial adipose tissuethickness and the disease risk factors including body mass index and age(r=0.597,r=0.482,p<0.01).In the coronary artery disease group, the thinckness significantly correlateswith the Gensini’s score(r=0.911,p<0.01), increasing with the severity of coronary arterystenosis.[Conclusion] Epicardial adipose tissue might be a critical independent risk factor ofcoronary artery disease, which also might serve as a therapeutic target for the disease. |
