We report a case of pulmonary tuberculosis with Penicilliummarneffei infection from a2312years old boy who had a persistent fever formore than1month with unknown origin in which his condition aggravatedwith cough for10days. Chest radiograph showed several conglomerationshadows on upper left lobe and right lower lobe. CT scan of the chesthinted shadow lesions in both lungs with lymph nodes enlargement ofmediastinum and the hilum of lung. Acid-fast bacilli were detected in thegastric liquid. The bone marrow culture showed Penicillium marneffeigrowth. Diagnosis: Pulmonary tuberculosis complicating with Penicilliummarneffei infection. We report a successful treatment of the diseases usingstreptomycin, isoniazide, rifampicin, liposomal amphotericin B andfluconazole for1month. Six months after treatment, patients are totallycured. |
