| Objective To explore the outcome of treatment of post-traumatic talipesequinovarus in children by Ilizarov invasive distrction techenique withlimited operations.Method Between January2006and June2012,43clubfeet of40patientswere treated by using Ilizarov invasive distrction techenique combined withlimited operations such as soft tissue release and osteotomy.There were29males(31feet) and11females(12feet) with an average age of10.2years(range from6-15years old),which were followed up from6months to6years.Correction was started from the second week at a rate of0.25mmfour times a day.The pationt was discharged from hospital after learninghow to do the correction alone to come for follow-up as an outpationt.Assessment by ICFSG scoring systerm, including functional evaluation (36points),morphology (12points) and radiological evaluation (12points),were made in all the cases before and after treatment. Based on thescore,the outcome were classified into four grades:excellent(0-5points),good(6-15points),fair(16-30points), poor(31-60points). Result Of all the cases were well followed-up,which can walk pain freewithout external support. The mean score before operations was37.58±8.95,which was7.22±4.37after treatment.28feet were excellent,10feetwere good and4feet are fair.1pationt still walk with limp resulted fromsevere vascular-nerve injury.2cases achieved pin tract infection.1of themhave good result after controlling the infcton,while another one quittreatment by removing the fixator.Conclusion1.Ilizarov invasive distrction techenique combined withlimited operations can perfectly play their respective roles in the treatmentof post-traumatic talipes equinovarus in children,it is recommendedextensive application in clinic work.2.Idications:I. talipes equinovarus inchilren after muscle、skin、bone injury;II.Relapse of operated congenitalclubfoot in chilren.3.Contraindication:I.Severe nerve injury;II.Infectionof the affected limbs. |
