Objective:To evaluate the impact of course reform on professional ability of the nursing graduates from Secondary Technical Nursing School.Method:A follow-up survey was conducted among78nurses from grade2008(traditional curriculum and teaching mode) and78nurses from grade2009(new mode after curriculum and teaching reform) who were selected through purposive sampling. Respectively in2011and2011-December10, by the head nurse questionnaire to evaluate graduates of vocational ability, a comparison of the two group of graduates career ability.Curriculum reform include:to strengthen the students’ occupational consciousness, psychological social optimum ability, increase the professional ethics (36class hours), health laws and regulations (36class hours), philosophy and life (72hours), occupation career planning (36class hours), and other courses; In order to increase students’ ability to operate the nursing ability, increase practice teaching hours, theory teaching and practice teaching than about1:1.8, the basic nursing practice class increased to108hours. In order to emphasize the ability development of nursing practice, the curriculum reform have been added for the nursing professional technology training72hours, at the same time in the practice teaching project teaching method should be introduced, such as action-oriented teaching, role playing, such as case teaching, cultivate students’ autonomous learning ability and critical thinking ability and communication ability, etc. Includes "the questionnaire of nursing graduates from vocational technical secondary school ability" assessment of the graduates of vocational ability, professional ability as clinical nursing ability, critical thinking ability, independent learning ability, innovation ability, communication ability and psychological and social adaptation ability examined six projects, a total of20terms. Self-designed Technical Secondary School Occupation Competence of Nursing Graduates Questionnaire was administered to access the occupation competence of graduates. Summarize the vocational ability for clinical nursing ability, critical thinking ability, independent learning ability, innovation ability, communication ability and psychological and social adaptation ability of six projects examined a total of20terms. SPSS17.0was used to conduct statistical analysis. Descriptive analysis was used to describe the general information and Chi-squared test was used to compare two groups.Results:Unit of choose and employ persons according to the survey on the overall evaluation of technical secondary nursing students professional ability, two levels of students professional ability is not optimistic. Grade2008and grade2009graduates of vocational ability are low, and the ability to target in the evaluation of "good" are not more than60%, and among them for a level2008graduates of vocational ability evaluation level and below2009graduates of vocational ability. In clinical nursing ability to the operation of the two levels of graduates ability evaluation of "good" more than50%, but in the evaluation of the evaluation ability is lower than30%; The evaluation of critical thinking ability, unit of choose and employ persons to level2008graduates analysis ability evaluation is low, and a level2009after the curriculum reform the relative analysis ability had the big enhancement; Social adaptation ability of self-regulation ability and the ability to resist setback is low in the evaluation before and after the curriculum reform, the evaluation of the "good" not more than26%, need to the attention of the schoolConclusion:1, the secondary nursing students professional ability needs to improve, as a secondary technical school should strengthen the cultivation of students’ vocational ability.2, curriculum reform, the change of teaching method of secondary nursing students have a certain role in promoting professional ability.
