Objectives:Collecting data, to analyze on the effect of diabetes on preoperative andpostoperative hospitalization time for patients undergoing knee joint replacement, aiming at the corresponding problems to be discussed and putting forward nursingstrategy, applying nursing consultation system to nursing work in the bone and jointsurgery, providing theoretical and practical support for clinical nursing work. Methods:Adopting convenience sampling, and collect data of hospitalized patientsundergoing knee arthroplasty from2012February to December at a hospital inBeijing for joint surgery. To design methods by case-control study, the study subjectswere divided into the observation group and the control group according to whetherthe patients with diabetes. Inclusion criteria:below the age of80, the first single knee, double knee joint replacement, past history only of type2diabetes or type2diabetespatients with hypertension stage1. Exclusion criteria: knee revision arthroplasty, withsevere hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases, with digestive tract diseasesand other complicated diseases. With the help of Excel, the database was set up on thegeneral data of the patients, preoperative hospitalization time and postoperativehospitalization, and they were analyzed by SPSS17.0software, by using descriptivestatistics method, non parameter test of Mann-Whitney U test for statistical analysis ofthe data.Results:1. There were no significant differences in patients’ single and double kneearthroplasty betweeen the observation group and the control group of generalinformation (P>0.05), with comparable.2. There were statistically significant effects of diabetes on preoperativehospitalization time for patients undergoing knee joint replacement,(P <0.05), no significant effects on postoperative hospitalization time (P>0.05).Conclusions:1. Diabetes prolonged preoperative hospitalization time for patients undergoingknee joint replacement.2. Diabetes had no statistical significance on hospitalization time of patients afterknee joint replacement, which may originate from the preoperative good control ofblood glucose level, therefore, influence of diabetes on postoperative hospitalizationtime for patients undergoing knee joint replacement needs to be further studied3.Good preoperative blood glucose management can shorten patients’preoperative hospitalization time of knee joint replacement with diabetes, and theknee arthroplasty in patients with diabetes should be given foreseeable nursingintervention4.To improve the surgical medical staff knowledge about diabetes mellitus, strengthen the compliance behavior of patients.5. Based on the medical resources sharing, to carry on nursing consultation, andsolve the difficult nursing problems, rationally concentrate resources and use themwell, better to service patients, and improve the satisfaction degree of patients.
