Objective:Collected from2008to2012the orthopedic three ward of the second xiangya hospital of central south university to accept the corail total hip arthroplasty in patients with gender, age, type of illness, years of history, preoperative ARCO stage, before surgery, follow-up of post-hip the Harris score and postoperative X-rays for statistical analysis, Analysis of the region of ONFH patients with late onset law and reason, some guidance on the prevention and treatment of ONFH patients.Summary surgical experience in order to further improve the technical level of the THA.Methods:This study examined the results of corail THA in patients with late stage osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH).From January2008to January2012,a series of199patients(217hips) who had undergone THA in our department were involved in this study. A totol of175patients(183hips) were available for this review. Of them, male was106patients(112hips) and female was69patients(71hips).Their ages ranged from23.0to87.0years and a mean was57.3years.The underlying diagnosis was alcohol-induced in69patients (72hips), steroid-induced in25patients (27hips), post-traumatic in43patients (43hips), idiopathic in38patients(41hips),According to Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) classifying,71and112hips were in stage ARCOⅢ-C and ARCOIV respectively. All patients were evaluated both clinically and radiographically. Clinical outcomes were evaluated according to Harris evaluation score. The operative condition and complication were observed. Components migration and bone changes around the components were measured in the anterior-posterior and lateral X-ray of the hips. Results:In this group,175patients (183hips) were obtained follow-up form0.5to4.5years with an average of2.5years.The Harris evaluation score of the function was increased to92.8points at post-operation from42.0points at pre-operation. The rate of excellent and good results was93.9%(172/183). Some cases occurred complications,4cases were deep vein thrombosis,3cases were wound infection or prosthesis infection,9cases were pain of thigh,3cases were heterotopic ossification, no dislocation of the hip,no prosthesis loosening, no important vascular and nerve damage,no prosthesis around fractures and no other complications.X-ray follow-up results is good. Conclusion:Corail total hip arthroplasty is mature and safe procedure, the clinical treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head is satisfaction.
