Objective:To establish a human osteosarcoma cases database and to introduce how to use it and its clinical application. Methods:Based on Linux, the software was systematic developed using struct2.0and MVC technology,in which MyEclipse9.1+Tomcat7.0is applied as a developing tool. The data of patients with osteosarcoma is stored in MySQL database, creating a database and data table with PowerDesigner and Navicat on the Windows platform. Clinical data of112cases of patients with orthopedic osteosarcoma in The Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from January2006to December2012were entered into the database. Objective analyze statistically of the sex, age, predilection site and clinical stage etc. Results:The use of the database can rapid entry for diseased patients with osteosarcoma signs and symptoms, the results of the blood test results and imaging, chemotherapy and surgery program, pathology results, discharge follow-up. Provides a complete raw data records for the latter part of the statistical analysis and data query. Database’s network during test run is stable and friendly interface, people who are unfamiliar with computers can easily operate the database. For cases of osteosarcoma grade, age of onset, surgical staging cases information for statistical results are consistent with SPSS software results.Conclusions:1.This database has a powful processing functions for osteosarcoma clinical data.2.The database can finish in a variety of information, including the images storage and a complete record of the patient’s clinical data.3.The database is user-friendly and simple operation, no special training to use.4.The database will play an important role in clinical research, teaching, scientific research and clinical experience, and to provide information support for further retrospective and prospective studies.5.Although the early development of the database is basically completed, it is still a large number of test data before any further perfect, meanwhile, to expand its network transport functions in order to achieve the of offsite collection and real-time sharing of data.
