Background:papillary carcinoma, a common type of thyroid cancer, slow growth, relatively low degree of malignancy, but the cervical lymph nodes is still very high transfer rate. Neck lymph node dissection in the treatment of papillary thyroid carcinoma, is worthy to implement. But many patients after surgery appeared ear, neck and shoulder sensory loss, or with pain and numbness.For this phenomenon, designed the multifunction reserved neck dissection, and to explore its scientific and practical.Methods:The clinical suspicion of cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma for patients with multi-function to keep the neck dissection in recent years in the Xiangya Hospital. Through the patient’s clinical data of this surgery, discuss surgical methods and surgical points and combine with the patients’recovery to do a comprehensive assessment of this surgery.Results:In addition to retain Jugular vein, sternocleidomastoidthe muscle and accessory nerve, also retained the supraclavicular nerve, occipital nerve and great auricular nerve, the transverse cervical blood vessels, neck surgery external jugular vein and anterior muscles Postoperative dominated areas reserved cervical plexus cutaneous nerve sensory disturbances significantly improved.Conclusion:Multi-function reserved neck dissection on the basis of the radical,while preserving many neck organizational structure, and significantly improve the quality of life of patients. Multifunction reserved lymph node dissection in the patients with CN1thyroid papillary carcinoma is worthy to implement.
