Objectoce:To compare clinical therapeutic effects of percutaneous biliary stentplacement combined with125I particles intraluminal implanation and percutaneousbiliary stent on the malignant obstructive jaundice. Methods:As a prospective study,64patients with malignant obstructive jaundicewho have no opportunity for radical operations were selected to conduct percutaneousbiliary stent placement, then divided into treatment group(32) and control group(32)on the basis of whether to implement125I particles intraluminal implanation, observing the curative effects of two kinds of treatments. Results:After treatment of1month,3months,two group of patients, symptoms ofjaundice have decreased on an observable scale and the liver function have improvedsubstantially. Compare postoperative1month and3months bilirubin levels drop oftwo groups of patients, the differences were statistically insignificant(P>0.05).Compare bilirubin levels of postoperative1month with3months betweentwo groups of patients, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).3monthslater,the tumor size of treatment group shrink significantly, the tumor size of controlgroup increase significantly. Compare the tumor size of postoperative3months withpreoperation between two groups of patients, the differences were statisticallysignificant (P<0.05). Analyzed by Kaplan-Meier Survival Curve, the average survivalperiods of treatment group are (11.2±0.70) months. The average survival periods ofcontrol group are (8.0±0.6) months, the treatment group survival time wassignificantly longer than the control group, the differences were statisticallysignificant (P<0.05). Conclusions: Percutaneous biliary stent placement and125I particles intraluminalimplanation is significantly better than percutaneous biliary stent in controlling tumorgrowth, prolonging survival time and stent patency time. The technique is safe andsimple. It leaves small incision, causes no absolute contraindications and can beapplied repeatedly.
