Objective: To observe clinical intervention efficacy of Jiawei Shengmai San withinvigorating Qi and nourishing yin method combined with lifestyle intervention to treat thepatients of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and to explore its mechanism.Methods:80patients with IGT were selected, randomly divided into two groups:treatment group of40patients, with lifestyle intervention (simple diet and exerciseintervention) supplemented Jiawei Shengmai San,40cases in the control group, only to thelifestyle intervention, respectively, for1years, two groups were observed in patients withfasting plasma glucose (FPG), OGTT2hours glucose (2hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1C), the changes of clinical symptoms before and after treatment of traditionalChinese medicine and the change of body mass index, blood pressure, blood lipid, serumuric acid index.Results: Treatment group after the intervention of FPG,HbA1C, blood lipid, blooduric acid, body mass index, clinical symptoms was improved significantly, there issignificant difference compared with the control group. No adverse reaction was foundduring the test,1years after the treatment group into diabetic mellitucs(DM)conversionrate was significantly lower than control group, reversed to normal glucosetolerance(NGT)conversion rate was significantly higher than the control group.Conclusion: Invigorating qi and nourishing Yin combined with lifestyle interventioneffects significantly in IGT patients, can lower glucose, lipid, and uric acid; can lower bodymass index and blood pressure; can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of thepatients with IGT; better to reverse IGT and delay the process of conversion from IGT toDM, and have the medication safety.It proved the validity of the treatment of TCM. Ihe correct use of the Chinese medicine dialectical treatment of impaired glucose tolerance hasvery broad prospects.
