Objective:Urinary incontinence is the most common postoperative complications oflaparoscopic radical prostatectomy and is also the most important factor which affectthe quality of life of patients. There are many factors that may influence the urinarycontinence after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, including the definition ofurinary incontinence, objective clinical characteristics and surgical techniques. Thepurpose of this issue is to discuss the factors associated with urinary incontinenceafter laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Methods:A total of101patients were enrolled in the study of multivariate analysis. Closefollow-up was performed and a series of pre-, peri-and post-operative factors wererecorded. Calculate the rate of continence (Calculate from the date of removing thecatheter), depict the curve of continence by using Kaplan-Meier method, make thesingle factor analysis and sift the risk factors of urinary incontinence. Analyze the riskfactors of urinary incontinence through multiple-factor analysis by COX method. Results:Urinary continence after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy was19.8﹪at8weeks, and86.1﹪at16weeks, the most important recovery interval for urinarycontinence is8weeks to16weeks after the surgery. On multivariate analysis age (p﹤0.01), BMI (p﹦0.052), previous TURP (p﹦0.035) and surgical cases (p﹦0.014)were important factors for urinary incontinence.Conclusions:1、During the laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, optimizing preservation ofnerve of continence can improve the recovery of urinary continence.2、 Age, obesity and past TURP are independent prognostic factors.
