Objective:To study the effect of heat-clearing and detoxicating method on serum procalcitonin(PCT) and C-reaction protein(CRP) in a rat model of sepsis.Methods:We choose50male SD rats to build models of sepsis,which intraperitoneal injection by lipopolysaccharide(5mg/kg). We randomly divided rats into normal group,model group,warm water control group and experimental group of heat-clearing and detoxicating.Among them,the control group and the experimental group were divided into4groups according to the execution time (8h,24h,48h,72h), and5rats in each group.The experimental group received the qingwenbaidu Decoction(1.45g/100g),and the control group were treated with warm water.We tested serum PCT.CRP level by enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay,and pathological changes in lung, intestinal tissue by microscope after Hematoxylin-eosin staining.Results:(1)We built the rat model of sepsis successfully:compared with the normal group,rats of model group were sick,moderate inflammation in the lung and the intestinal mucosal,and also edema.At the same time,levels of PCT were significantly higher(P<0.01).(2)Heat-clearing and detoxicating method improved the level of PCT:PCT of the experimental48h group were lower than the control48h group (P<0.05),and the experimental72h group were also decreased significantly(P<0.01),suggesting that the effect was significantly after48h.(3)Heat-clearing and detoxicating method improved the level of CRP:in the experimental group,the CRP levels of four subgroups(8h,24h,48h,72h) were lower than the control groups (P<0.05), suggesting that the experimental groups were better than the control groups.(4)Heat-clearing and detoxicating method improved the change on the pathology of the lung and intestinal tissue:compared with the control24h,72h group,the experimental group reduced the inflammatory cell infiltration.Conclusion:"Toxin" is an important pathogenic factor in sepsis,pay attention to it and treat toxin will provide new ideas for the clinical treatment of sepsis.Heat-clearing and detoxicating method can effectively reduce the serum PCT,CRP levels.
