| Objective: To discuss the effect of anatomic locking plate fixation for thetreatment of olecranon Schatzker D fractures.Method: A retrospective analysis was done for21patients with olecranonSchatzker D fractures who had been treated in our department (Dalian MedicalUniversity First Affiliated Hospital) from September2008to No September2012. Allof these patients were treated with the operation of anatomic locking plate fixation.Among them, male13cases and female8cases; ages were from21to65and mean agewas38.5-year old; fall damage for14cases, traffic collision for4cases andhard-combat injury for3cases; injury stay were2~6days and mean time was3.1day.The difference between these indicators were compared according to MEPS.Results: In this study, all of the21cases were postoperative follow-up for0.5~2.5years (mean time,1.3years). According to MEPS inferred, excellent effect were foundin14cases, good effect were found in5cases, better effect in1case and poor effect in1case. The mean score of MEPS were92points. The mean range of motion (rom) ofelbow joint were114, unbent mean rom were-8and flexion mean rom were122. Therewas1case for anchylosis and2case for heterotopic ossification.Conclusions: Olecranon fractures are more common adult elbow injury, ofteninvolving the olecranon articular surface.ORIF is the ideal choice for the treatment ofolecranon fractures,but there is no a surgical treatment of all types of olecranonfractures.Surgery should be based on the actual situation of the fracture patients withdifferent binding, select a reasonable surgical treatment.Olecranon Schatzker Dfractures are one of comminuted fractures and the locking internal fixation operation isbetter than other surgery methods and it could provide an effective treatment forOlecranon Schatzker D fractures. Intraoperative fractures anatomic reduction to restore the articular surface of the formation and early postoperative functional exercise isessential. |
