OBJECTIVE:We aimed to evaluate the learning curve of Single-site retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy and conventional retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy comparing surgical time.METHODS:We performed a retrospective analysis of clinical cases comparing our first100conventional retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy by the same surgeon with our first60single-site retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy. The traditional cases are divided into four groups in chronological order with each group of25patients. The single-site retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy cases are divided into four groups in chronological order with each group of15patients. Surgical time was analyzed using one-way ANOVA to comparethe difference between groups.RESULTS:With the increasing of operation cases.Surgical time of the two group is decreasing. The surgical time of the single-site retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy is longer than conventional retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy. The traditional group enter a plateau after two group surgery with50operations but the single site surgery with30operations.CONCLUSION: The single-site retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy is safe and feasible to experienced hands of the conventional retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy. The learning curve of the single-site retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy is shorter than the conventional retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy.
