| Objective:We measured serum levels of AFP, CEA and tPSA withen healthy people in Changsha area in order to investigate whether there are some differences among different gender and age groups, and to describ the variation of serum AFP, CEA and tPSA levels according to age. finally, we wanted to establish the reference intervals of serum AFP, CEA and tPS A withen health adult in Changsha area. Methods:We selected healthy people through questionnaire and medical examination, and divided there people into different groups according to gender and age. Six groups were made according to age, as follows: group one(age ranged from20to29); group two(age ranged from30to39); group three(age ranged from40to49); group four (age ranged from50to59); group five(age ranged from60to69); group six(age ranged from70to93), Serum AFP, CEA and tPSA levels of1878cases of medical examiner from Changsha area were measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay on Roche Cobas e411immunoassay analyzer with its ancillary reagents, then analyze the results with statistical software to observe whether serum AFP, CEA levels between male and female have significant differences, and to describ the variation of serum AFP, CEA and tPSA levels according to age. finally, we established the95%reference values of serum AFP, CEA and tPSA by health adult from Changsha area. Results:The median levels of serum AFP and CEA are obviously higher in male groups than female groups. We can see clear correlation between the content of serum AFPã€CEAã€tPSA and age. For AFP, all male groups have significant difference with group one (P<0.05), there are no significant difference among group twoã€threeã€four and group five; all female groups have significant difference with group one, there are no significant difference among group threeã€fourã€five and group six Referring to CEA, all male groups except for group two and three have significant difference with group one, there are no significant difference among group fourã€five and group six; all female groups except for group two have significant difference with group one, there are no significant difference between group four and group five. For tPSA, all male groups except for group five and six have non-significant difference with group one. The levels of serum AFP, CEA and tPSA have certain trends with the change of age. For male, serum level of AFP rises from20years old to49years old, there is a peak from40years old to49years old, after50 years old, it begain to drop; for female, the peak ages are from60years old to69years old. The levels of CEA and tPSA increased with age added. Conclusions:The levels of serum AFP, CEA and tPSA are different according to different age and gender groups, we established the reference intervals of AFP, CEA and tPSA respectively according to different age and gender groups. |
