| Objective We aimed to investigate the pathogens of children with acute respiratory infection(ARI) in Jingzhou from2011to2012which could provide some evidences for clinical diagnosisand treatment. Methods Throat swabs were collected from544in-patient children with ARI. Therespiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza virus (IFV), para-influenza virusâ… , â…¡, â…¢,adenovirus (ADE) and human metapneumovirus (HMPV) were detected by Real-Time PCR.Results The significant relationship was found between total positive rate of virus pathogens ofchildren with ARI and season and age, but not for sex. Positive rate of virus was the highest inwinter and among children aged2-3years; it was the lowest in spring and among babies lessthan one year. Among the8viruses, the most popular virus was ADE (positive rate was16.54%)which was followed by RSV, influenza virus B, para influenza virusâ… . ADE was the highestdetected one in children aged1-2years, and was the lowest one in children aged4-7years whencomparing with the others. RSV was commonly detected in summer and aged1-2years, andinfluenza virus B was commonly detected in spring and children aged2-3years. ConclusionDetection of viral pathogens in children with acute respiratory infection could provide fast andaccurate diagnostic evidences which could avoid antibiotics abuse. |
